To get what you want, you must discover what's preventing you from taking action. Think of something you've avoided doing until the last minute. Isn't it true that you put whatever it is off simply to avoid the pain of the moment, only to experience even greater pain later on?
Take paying taxes for example. What happens on April 14? Our procrastination vanishes because we quickly change what we believe (associate in our minds) will bring us pain or pleasure. Suddenly, not taking action is much more painful than just doing it.
In the future, instead of wondering, "How can I avoid doing this painful task?" ask yourself, "If I don't take action now, what will this ultimately cost me?"
Pain can be your friend if you use it effectively.
